About Monica Donnelly
Hello! My name is Monica and ever since I was a young child, I knew I wanted to help people. I believe that our childhood experiences and relationships greatly shape who we are and the way we think. I also believe understanding our past gives us a complete picture of our present and allows us to create the change we want to see in our future.
I work with adults, adolescents, parents, and women who are feeling overwhelmed with issues such as parental challenges, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and relational concerns. I have a background in school counseling which has allowed me to work with young adults with academic, career, and life transition decisions. I also work with parents whose children have learning differences. I am passionate about working with parents raising children with disabilities as I know they often feel isolated, overwhelmed and worried about their child’s future. Additionally, I specialize in empowering women to help them enjoy fulfilling relationships and an overall more meaningful life for themselves. I understand that everyone’s situation is unique. I promise to lead with my compassion, understanding, and support as we take on your struggles in a safe place at your pace. I will be with you every step of the way and together we will make positive changes in your life. When not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, and three children, listening to all kinds of music, and playing with my sweet, rescue Chihuahua named Izzy. License and QualificationsI am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience working in high schools, colleges, social service agencies, crisis teams, and hospitals. I returned to school as an adult and attended DePaul University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I later attended Lewis University and received a Master’s degree in School Counseling and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
